As Co-Founder and Chief Operating Officer of Text IQ, Omar drives the commercialization efforts and executive relationships for one of the fastest-growing Artificial Intelligence companies in the US.
Initially, Omar focused on acquiring Text IQ's first customers, including the world's top life sciences, financial services, energy, technology companies, and government agencies. Today, Omar works closely with executives at these companies, helping them implement AI as a tool for risk mitigation and power digital transformation.
Omar has played integral roles across sales, marketing, customer success, and product at different times in the company's life cycle. He was instrumental in building Text IQ's strong executive leadership team and steering the company's fundraising and go-to-market efforts.
Omar is passionate about disruptive technology and has a track record of building and operating innovative companies from the ground up. Prior to Text IQ, he co-founded and led Sportaneous, a consumer health company, which was acquired by Greatist in 2014 and subsequently Healthline.
As a leader at one of the fastest growing AI companies, Omar is often faced with addressing important questions about how disruptive technology like Text IQ can be used to benefit society. His most recent published work, "Could It Be Unethical Not to Use AI?" provides a perspective on the beneficial uses of AI.
Omar holds a JD and MBA from Columbia University, an MA from Oxford, where he studied Ethics under John Tasioulas (the inaugural Director of the Institute for Ethics in AI at Oxford University), and a BA from the University of California, Berkeley.
Omar lives in Pacifica, California (a coastal town south of San Francisco) and enjoys surfing, gastronomy, and live music.
